As a product designer, most of my work revolves around watching trends and putting together products that solve people’s problems and bring them joy. In this case, I wanted to make a modern e-commerce template for Squarespace because their old templates were clunky and lacked good storytelling. This vibrant project aimed to make e-commerce more tasty and fun for everyone.

Picnic Day has all the right sections for a story-fueled e-commerce website. From the large inclusive message splashed across the hero section to the way a viewer is pulled into the promise of easy-to-order picnics, this website has conversion at its core. It quickly draws you in with movement and playful shapes, explains how it works, and then funnels you through top-selling products. Some sections like the scrolling UGC carousel and the About page testimonial section are custom-coded to give the template its unique “Is this really a Squarespace site?” vibes.
Any brand needs socials that stop the scroll, and Picnic Day’s vibrant summer-themed Instagram templates are perfect for building engagement, showing off products, and setting that relaxed summer vibe that makes people think, “hey, let’s go to the park and have a picnic today.”
